My husband and I are looking for a responsible couple to stay on our property for almost a month. Our little paradise is located 350 meters from the beautiful Puerto Cayo beach (32 km long!) and two kilometers from the village and its facilities. We are on the top of a hill with a breathtaking view. I can tell you that it's a very charming and quiet place.
What we will ask you for is to take good care of our Labrador dog, to water the garden diligently and to keep the space clean. In short, to take care of our property as if it was yours. We also ask you to assure an almost full time presence on the property : we had been robbed once when we came back to Canada and we don't want it to happen again.
It's quite an experience living here so we need someone who can easily deal with a generator, plumbing, pumps and things like that. A handyman/woman would be fantastic just in case something happens. Being physically able to walk the dog at least one hour/day is also required as to know how to maintain a swimming pool.
We speak french, english and spanish, we have Internet, AC, hot water, queen size bed and a palapa (for shade) with hammoncks.
If you need rest, vacations or if you want tranquillity to work or to write a novel, you are the perfect candidate! Puerto Cayo is a very quiet and peacefull fishing village. If you are looking for fiesta, bars, nightlife, good restaurants and cultural life, this place is definitely not for you.
We ask you to arrive at least two days before our departure to show you everything you have to know. We will take you to the nearest big city so you can make a complete grocery before we leave and then you'll be able to find fish, shrimps, eggs, chicken, milk and beer in the village. A food truck comes twice a week at home with vegetables and fruits and another truck delivers 18 liters bottles of drinking water at our door for 1$ each (the money in Ecuador is the American dollar). There is also few restaurants, a drugstore and a medical clinic.
