We are looking for a responsible, non-smoking individual or couple who would like to take care of our two cats and home. We live on a private, sunny lot close to downtown Portland. Our cats are a bit shy, but always friendly. Their needs are minimal, but they do need to be fed twice a day. We have a lovely deck, where we eat many of our meals from June - October. The garden is large, but won’t really need any maintenance. We are part way through a reworking of the back yard. There won’t be anyone working on it, but parts of it are a bit dug up. This won’t affect dining on the deck, but will affect your ability to play croquet or badminton!
Our house has an open floor plan. We have a large kitchen, open living/dining area, three bedrooms, family room, 2-1/2 baths, garage and washer/dryer. There is a gas grill by the deck. We have limited cable coverage, but we do have Netflix, WiFi and AC.
This neighborhood is great for people who like to walk and want to be close to downtown Portland. We are a couple of blocks from Gabriel Park and 3-4 blocks from two buses that go downtown and one that goes up to OHSU. We are 3/4 mile from Multnomah Village and one mile from Hillsdale.
Our cats prefer reasonably quiet folks, as do our friendly neighbors. The cats have a cat-door and come and go as they please. At 13 years of age, they mostly nap their way around the house or garden. Responsibilities include feeding the cats twice a day, occasionally emptying the litter box and watering a handful of houseplants twice a week. Marijuana is legal in Oregon, but not okay in our house or on our property.
If you want to spend time getting to know Portland, have family to visit or work to do nearby, this may be the place for you!
