We are looking for someone to spend nearly three months in our comfortable midtown Toronto home, from January 3 – March 22, 2020. The house is three-level with a finished basement and is nicely furnished with a well-equipped kitchen. It’s a very safe area of town and the neighbours are friendly! We have no pets and the front-yard snow-clearing is taken care of by a contractor, so the main chore is putting the garbage or recycling bins out each Monday night. We also try to keep a heated birdbath clean and full for the winter birds and critters (mostly squirrels) so a bit of cursory snow clearing out back might be needed. There are five stops in the immediate area for buses that go to subway stations. The closest subways are 7 minutes away by bus (a 20-minute walk) and the train ride to downtown Toronto takes about 15 minutes. By car, it takes about 20 minutes to reach downtown through the week, 10 minutes on Sunday. There is plentiful local shopping and a number of restaurants within walking distance but the two closest supermarkets are each 10 minutes away by bus or car. All the house mechanicals are in good repair but things do happen, so experience in running a Canadian house in winter would be a distinct advantage. Local candidates go to front of the line as we would like to meet our sitter(s) in person.
