We need a housesitter to stay with our 8 year old Doberman, as we prefer not to board her out. She is an energetic, happy dog, generally healthy. We live on 4 acres in the central Fraser Valley near the west coast of British Columbia, about an hour east of Vancouver and just a short distance from the US-Canada border. Our property is quite private, and is in a very quiet area mainly of dairy, vegetable and fruit farms. The roads around us are very popular for cyclists, and there are many local hiking trails. The city of Abbotsford is nearby, with extensive shopping available, and a good hospital. We are about 20 minutes from Chilliwack, which is also a very scenic area. Other than the dog, we have a few chickens, but they are not much work as they just need to have their water changed, feeder filled, eggs gathered, and doors opened and shut at each end of the day. We also have a Dexter cow and calf, but they may be sold by the time we go away. If they are still here, a neighbour will take care of them if the sitters don’t want to. Neighbours are aware of when we go away, and have helped the housesitters with any questions or anything else they may need. Our house has been renovated over the last several years, is single level, with a large fenced yard.
