We are looking for a house sitter to stay in our condo and take care of our two young cats, Jackson and Jasper, as well as take in our mail and keep the condo clean.
The cats are young and playful and would love someone to play with them several times a day as well as of course feed them twice a day and scoop out their litter box several times a day. They love to play with the laser pointer! Jasper is a friendly lap cat and would also love to spend time purring in your lap. He is on a medication to prevent crystals in his urine so just needs you to break up pills in his food every meal - he is a chow hound and doesn't mind the taste of the medicine at all. Jackson is more reserved at first and very sensitive to change in his environment and loud noises, which is why we don't take him to be boarded. When he gets stressed, he tends to throw up so it's possible you may need to clean up after him if that happens (about 1-2 times a week). Even though he's reserved at first, he will soon warm to you as he's really very sweet and gentle. He loves to sit on shoulders and purr quietly and will no doubt sleep with you after a day or so. The cats get along very well with each other so you don't need to worry about them fighting.
The condo is located in a wonderful area. It is across the street from the 20-mile long Burke Gilman Trail (bike and running), is a block away from Lake Union, has a fantastic view of the lake, downtown Seattle, and the Space Needle. We are within walking distance of many restaurants, and have very good transit service However we are located about 4 blocks from the I-5 bridge over the lake so you will hear noise from that when the windows or doors are open.
The building is secure and if you have a car, you would have the use of a parking spot in the garage. There are several e-bike sharing services in the area, as well as canoe and kayak rentals nearby.
The inside of the condo has been recently completely remodeled. The kitchen is very large for a condo well appointed. The master bedroom is also large and has large windows that also look out on the lake and skyline. Because the floors were recently redone, we do ask that you remove shoes when entering the house.
We are looking foward to someone who loves cats and can take good care of our two guys while we are away.
