Hi, I am looking for a quiet, respectful, clean, responsible non-smoking person or couple to take care of my cat and small home for 21 days. Solid references required.
No drugs, no parties, no smoking, no drama, no children, no other guests allowed.
My cat is a 10 year old neutered male and is an inside/outside cat. There is no litter box, he goes to the bathroom outside. He has no bad habits. He sleeps about 22 hours a day and will probably not want to interact with you very much. He can be very shy at first but may gradually warm up to you.
Your responsibilities will be to ensure he has food and fresh water available at all times, and to make sure he can go out to use the bathroom and come inside to sleep.
You will need to be present at the house at least once every 12 hours to check on and care for him. We love him very much and need to make sure we find the right person who will take great care of him while we're away.
We have a small home in the quiet residential neighborhood of Makawao, on the island of Maui. It has a small, green yard and is generally very peaceful and private. There are wild roaming chickens. The neighbors are friendly, quiet, and non-intrusive. Makawao is a quiet historic town known for its old-time charm and Hawaiian cowboys (paniolos). It is located in beautiful Upcountry Maui, on the slopes of Haleakala (about an hour to Haleakala National Park).
My house has a combo kitchen/living room, and has one bedroom (queen bed) and one full bathroom. There is another smaller bedroom that is our private storage and is not included. Washer and dryer are on-site. There is parking in the driveway if you wish to rent a car.
To give an idea of what is near the house:
5 minute drive (2 miles) to the nearest grocery store and gas station.
5 minute drive to local bakery, family-owned restaurants, art galleries, shopping.
About 8 minute walk to the nearest public bus stop.
About 25 minute drive to nearest beach/town of Paia.
About 25 minute drive to nearest big box stores (Walmart, Costco).
About 25 minute drive to airport (or you can take the public bus/Uber).
About 45 minute drive to resort areas/beaches in Kihei/Wailea towns.
There is no TV or WiFi. You can use data on your (service is fair in this area), or it is a 10 minute drive/bus ride to Starbucks which has free WiFi.
Air and ground transportation are not provided. You can rent a car if you wish, or rely on the public bus service (which is fairly limited). This is a non-payment exchange.
