Hello Housesitters,

I am going to be a snowbird January, February, March, April of 2023. I am looking for someone to stay in my house, and take care of the cat(s) I hope to adopt in the next few weeks. If the adoption does not go through, I still would like someone to stay in the house so it is not empty all that time.  And, there might be the added benefit of a lovely cat(s) to purr at you, snuggle with you, and play with you.

Rochester is a wonderful area if you love winter sports. There is cross country skiing in the numerous parks, where there is also sledding and ice skating. There are several ski slopes within a mile radius for those who like downhill.

If you are more the indoor type, Rochester has many museums, theaters, galleries and a vibrant art and music scene. When Spring comes (late Arpil) there are lilacs and tulips and daffodils all over, as well as the famous Rochester Lilac Festival the second week of May.  Almost everything is open again, after the pandemic, too.  Some places still require masks, so it is best to have one in your pocket!

My house is a three story Tudor with three bedrooms and 1 full and 2 half bathrooms.   The house has high speed internet and a Roku TV with Amazon Prime, Britbox, and Acorn.  There is an antenna for watching local stations, and a variety of others as well.  I will take care of all the household bills, so you just get to relax and enjoy all Rochester has to offer.  And maybe be purred at, if I do find the right cat(s)..

You will need to have your own vehicle.  Rochester has public transportation, but it is not the best.  But, you can get to grocery stores (Walmart Supercenters) on the bus.  I have left bus schedules in the House Sitters' Handbook..

I take care to make sure my housesitters are comfortable and happy in my home.  I arrange to have the driveway plowed when it snows.  I introduce my housesitters to my friends and neighbors who will act as "back up" if needed. If I do get the cat(s), I will arrange with Chewy to deliver cat food and litter so you will not have to worry about runninng out.  I have a very detailed House Sitters' Handbook with all the information you might need in it. (Thanks to previous house sitters who have helped me add things I did not think about.)

Since I pay all the bills, I just ask one other thing of my house sitters:  that they send me a Priority Mail envelope every week with the bills in it.  I provide the self addressed, stamped envelopes and a list of what to send (and what not to send).  All the house sitter has to do is take the envelope to the post office every Tuesday.  The postoffice is only about 1 mile (maybe a little more) from my house.

This is a long "ad" but I wanted to try to cover all the bases.

Thank you for considering spending a winter in Rochester, hopefully with a cute kitty or two.  Some of my previous housesitters have agreed to let me give a prospective sitter their s addresses so that you can ask them any questions you might have about my house, Rochester, and what I do for my house sitters.

Regards,

Ann
