We are looking for a house sitter who can take care of things while we are away. We have a variety of animals that will need caring for. Our two niegerian dwarf goats are due to have babies in June and July. The Dams may need to be milked if we are still milking at the time of the housesit and given fresh food, hay and water daily. We have a 5 year old dog, a Black Lab/German Shepherd mix. She is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. We have enough room on our 4 acres that daily walks aren't needed as long as she can get outside and run around or have someone throw a ball for her. We also have an elderly indoor cat that pretty much keeps to herself except when she wants food. She has to eat very small amounts of food multiple times a day because of stomach issues. A barn cat lives in the garage and needs food daily. Aside from that, we have 5 chickens that will need to be fed and have clean water daily. They can stay in the coop or be let out to free range the yard. You can collect and eat the eggs daily! We also have 4 beehives - you don't have to do anything with the bees - just wanted people to know for allergy reasons. The bees are not aggressive and just go about their work pollinating and gathering nectar.
Depending on the weather, the garden may have to be watered daily (if no rain). Any food in the garden that is ready is yours to consume.
We live on 4 beautiful acres full of apple & peach trees. It is a very rural setting but only 20 minutes from Milford, Amherst or Peterborough where you can find restaraunts and stores. The closest grocery store is 15 minutes away, but there is a small village store down the road that has plenty of selection for last minute items you may need. We are centrally located between Nashua and Manchester and there is lots of hiking, biking and fishing opportunities all around the area.
