First things first: We are willing to consider a house/cat sitter who can only commit to a month or two. Our first choice is somebody who can be here for the duration but we get it....4 months can be a long sit.
We are going on a journey and can't take our cat with us He is an indoor/outdoor tabby with a generally sweet disposition and he stays close to home. Our expectation is that he is fed, petted/brushed, and socialized with to the extent you are both happy! He needs a topical flea medication 1 x month. He will have all annual shots in July.
August and the fall are lovely times to be in Eugene. We have warmish - mild weather and fall color to rival the NE corner of our country. We are an hour+ away from the ocean, a must visit. The rainy season has been known to hit in the fall, and but not always. Probably nice through Oct.
Our home is a smallish 60s ranch style house. It has three bedrooms (one of which we will store our stuff in - to make room for your stuff). One bedroom has a king bed and the guest room is being redone to have a queen bed. The kitchen has had a recent remodel and is pretty well stocked. Oak flooring except for carpets in bedrooms. Cable/internet. It is in a neighborhood of similar homes, across street from a city park, an Arts and Tech middle school, and pickle ball courts! It's west facing. Sunsets can be really lovely from front room/front porch. It's an fairly quiet neighborhood, with friendly and neighborly neighbors on each side. We are about 4 blocks from a bus stop that goes into downtown or to the Univ of Oregon.
We will probably have a small garden in the back yard if we can get to it this spring (we're busy!). There are some indoor plants and some on the patio and porch that will need watering. The yard will be on automatic irrigation and we have a mowing service 2xmonth.
Mail should be minimal as we are forwarding it.
There is a community college in Eugene that offers community ed type classes (yoga, arts, field trips etc) as well as community centers that offer classes, and a fun kitchen store that offers cooking classes. I am attaching some links below to various attractions and info about the area. This is a great town for biking, hiking, birding, and lots of places to eat. Grocery stores range from local/organic to traditional. There are two artsy movie theatres as well as the traditional cinaplex. GREAT Saturday market and a produce truck parks down the street once/wk in summer. Some sites below for more information.
