We have a special opportunity for housesitters to enjoy the magnificent Teton Mountains and the Teton Valley in early Fall when the aspen trees are turning gold, the elk are bugling in the forests, and Sandhill Cranes are gathering in preparation for migration. The summer crowds have departed from nearby Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks so it is a great time to visit them. A little less than an hour away the town of Jackson, WY. (home to many fine restaurants, stores, and art galleries) holds its reknown arts festival in September drawing western art fanciers from around the country to view and buy over a million dollars of artwork. Hiking and biking here is spectacular in September in the national parks, national forests or at Grand Targhee Ski Resort. Our valley also offers several golf courses and world famous fishing on the nearby Teton, Snake and Henry's Fork rivers.
From our cozy, modern house our sitters have front row seats to amazing sunrises and sunsets. Evenings are still warm enough to eat out on our patio or by our pond. You may be able to harvest fresh veggies from our greenhouse to add to your dinner menu.
We need to have our super friendly (and healthy) dog and cat cared for. Mackie loves his twice daily (or more) walks around our block, and Lily is primarily a house cat who is content to sleep most of the time, but likes to go out to look for mice most days. They love attention and will reward you with vigorous tail wagging or loud purrs.
We have only a few house plants to water. Outside the house everything is automatically watered and by September the lawn doesn't need mowing.
Our home has three bedrooms, four baths, a large well equipped kitchen, a large great room with a big screen TV. The basement studio is well equipped for home sewing, or quilting, as well as exercising (bench, dumbbells, and stationery balls). We have road bikes, mountain bikes and gravel bikes our sitters can use.
We have an extremely well insulated house that is all electric so it is easy care and very comfortable. We have Internet fast enough to stream movies and our WiFi reaches all rooms. Cell reception is very good for users of Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Google Fi.
We have great, friendly, and helpful neighbors should help be needed of any sort. Our nearest neighbors are about 100 yards away in either direction. Our home is located in small subdivision in the middle of the valley in an area primarily used for cattle grazing so we have a very quiet and peaceful location.
It is an easy 5 mile drive to either Tetonia or Driggs to get groceries (at an amazing store with a huge selection), gas, medicines, or any other necessity, or to eat out at a nice selection of good restaurants. Driggs has a great small hospital and clinic should the need arise. We also are only a few miles from a couple of libraries for books, DVD’s and current periodicals.
