I can offer the use of my small but comfortable adobe house in a great location in return for care of my two indoor, neutered male cats. One of them needs to be given a thyroid pill twice a day, but he's quite cooperative about it.
My house is located near the newly developed Santa Fe Railyard and is a 1.1-mile walk from the Santa Fe plaza. If that's too long a walk, a free shuttle will take you from the Railyard to the plaza and the museum area.
The neighborhood is mixed income, not upscale but quiet and safe. My house has about 800 square feet of living space (one bedroom, one bath) plus a basement where the cats' litter boxes reside. It's old and has its quirks, but I think it's comfortable and attractive, and other people tell me it's charming.
