We live in an area between Termini Imerese and the medieval Castle town of Caccamo. Our small villa with garden and terraces overlooks the sea and bustling town of Termini Imerese as well as the imposing Monte San Calogero nature reserve which is great for walking. Both our dogs were abandoned before they came to us. The first was found four years ago, she is 5 yrs old. Sterilised she is very obedient and loves long walks in the local countryside, around the lake (lago Rosamarina) and loves swimming in the sea . The second dog is a puppy that was abandoned just a week ago (early March). He's up to date with his vaccinations and is adorable. He's very quick to learn and eagerly wants to please. The city of Palermo, to the east, is easily accessible by train from Termini Imerese and takes about 30 to 40 minutes as too, the famous beach resort of Cefalu, to the east taking about the same time. There is a sporadic bus service from the house so I would say a car is a necessity. We live just off the main road from Termini to Caccamo SS285 (7 minutes from Termini and 3 minutes to Caccamo by car). The street has private villas on both sides and most of them are occupied all year round so although you have privacy there is someone near to hand if you have an emergency! Knowledge of Italian would be an asset as little English is spoken but this is a great place to imerse yourself in Sicily's exciting historical past with its unique culture as well as enjoying its interesting & delicious culinary dishes famous world-wide. The people are extremely friendly and helpful. Friendships made will be long-lasting. We have lived on this island for several years and are still enjoying new discoveries on this, the Mediterranean's, largest island.
