Come and explore western North Carolina while we are on a road trip to Yellowstone National Park from Thursday May 29 - Thursday June 30. We will need a house sitter and caregiver for our dog Boomer, who will need walking and feeding twice a day. Our home would need to be well maintained, as well as watering of some outdoor plants and small garden.
Boomer:
Is a 7 year old, 80 lb., well-mannered, but not perfect (he has a high prey drive), rescue Chesapeake Bay Retriever. He is a easy going fellow, loves his walks, being with people, and especially loves car rides. He was turned into the Chessie Rescue due to severe allergies, which are now well maintained with biweekly allergy shots, medication with food, and baths.
Bearmont:
Is conveniently located just outside the eastern city limits of Maggie Valley (visitncsmokies ), and 50 minutes from the Asheville Regional Airport.
We are about 20 minutes from the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway which can lead to the NC entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in about 40 minutes.
Our charming downtown Waynesville (downtownwaynesville ) is 15 minutes from the house.
Asheville, NC is rated by Forbes Travel Guide as a top 18 destination ( the well know and beautiful Biltmore Estate ( both about 45 minutes away.
Our house is a single story, easy to maintain 2 bedroom, 2 bath log home (built in 2006, has ADT Security, electric utilities, WiFi, direct tv, ROKU, Netflix’s and Amazon). We are up a private gravel road at an elevation of 3000 feet, with beautiful views of near by mountains. The office/second bedroom in the main house has a pullout sleeper sofa, allowing the house to sleep four, comfortably. There is an adjoining, fully functional, guest log cabin that can sleep three.
The fenced yard and huge wrap around porch make for a perfect perimeter for Boomer to hang out in while you’re away and enjoying the area on day trips. This metal roofed wrap around porch has plenty of accommodations for relaxing in a hammock, porch swing, or chairs to enjoy our cool, breezy NC times for meals, cocktails, or for sunsets. The wooded trails, just off our property, are ideal places to walk Boomer – on-leash.
