We are looking for a house/pet sitter to stay in our rural oceanfront home while we are away for about 4 weeks this Spring - a time when winter should be leaving and you have the chance to explore before most tourists arrive.
We have two beautiful but energetic border collies and 3 cats. We live on the edge of the woods, right next to the ocean and have a large, safe, fenced yard for the dogs to run in.
The property sits on 12 acres and the house is set back about 500m from the road on a small hill, giving great views of the Atlantic. There is a fantastic beach about 1km away ("google" Hirtle's Beach). The UNESCO town of Lunenburg is a scenic 15 minute drive away. Bikes and kayaks available to be used at sitter's discretion, although the water will be cold!
The house sit would suit an active person or couple. We need someone who will offer great care to our pets, including walking and playing with the dogs as well keeping the house clean and tidy.
We will be happy to send further details and photos of the property once we are in contact with potential sitters.
We would like to talk to interested sitters via or whatsapp so we can both get to know each other prior to making commitments. References will be required.
Here is a testimonial from a previous housesitter that stayed at our property:
Favorite pet sit ever “So far in our house sitting adventures, this has been the all time favorite. The south shore of Nova Scotia is spectacular in any season with charming villages, beautiful beaches and friendly folks. Lunenburg, in particular, is very picturesque. There is a general store/café nearby the home which has yummy fresh bread and a nice wine selection. We very much appreciated the peaceful setting of this very comfortable home. The furry family has a place in our hearts forever. Rosie is very energetic, loves chasing Frisbees and will greet you with a smile (really!) every morning. Charlie is more laid back, likes to hang out with you and is an expert snuggler. If you take them for runs on the beach, they will be your friends forever. They are also happy cavorting in the very large fenced yard. The cats are in/out but you will most likely find Bob on your lap. Egg and Alan are more independent but very friendly. You will find all five vying for a place next to you (or on you!) when you watch TV in the evening. The homeowners are gracious and generous, the communications were great, the home is well-organized and supplied with everything you will need. We hope to return someday.” Laura and Eldon, New Brunswick
