Looking for a quiet stay, a place to reflect and destress? Spend some time in our little house in Southern Illinois Carbondale, home of the Shawnee National Forest and SIU Carbondale. We need someone to mind our home and take care of our cat and dog, Lily and Quincy while we are away for a short 8 day vacation. They love making new friends and would love all the affection you could give. Neville our beta fish, would also like a little attention. He's non-committal, but he does enjoy an evening feeding. Carbondale may seem like a sleepy little town, but it's a wonderful community, especially for outdoor lovers, wine connoisseurs, and those who enjoy a slower pace. We are conviently located to grocery stores, restaurants and campus. Easily accessible by bike or foot on a nice day. We are 20 minutes away from Giant City State Park in the Shawnee National Forest and 45 min-1hr away from the many hiking trails and parks that make up the Shawnee. Garden of the Gods, Fern Cliff and Panthers Den are just a few.
