Welcome to sunny Dixon, a small community located one hour north of Santa Fe, half an hour south of Taos. A drive to Taos takes you through the Rio Grand gourge with views that don’t stop. The Embudo runs behind the house, and we are near the confluence of the Rio Grand and the Embudo. Spring brings warm, sunny days and cool nights. It is a wonderful time to be outdoors, hiking, kayaking, or reading a good book.
My two dogs are friendly and the chickens will supply you with fresh eggs.
Dixon offers a community owned food market, an award winning library, a center for healing (massages, etc), and about 1,500 friendly residents.
Our home is located down a long dirt drive, right off the highway. We have easy access to community services (walking distance), yet we have privacy and quiet.
Thick pumice walls keep the house cool in hot weather and radiant heat will and a gas fireplace make evenings comfortable.
Our climate is high desert. We often have freezing temperatures at night, followed by warm, sunny days. We occasionally get snow.
Animal needs: feeding, petting and walking two dogs; feeding chickens and gathering eggs.
