Hello everyone,
We are a german couple and musicians, living in our lovely house on the canary island of Tenerife directly on the oceanfront. It is a quiet and picturesque little urbanisation with a community pool and breathtaking views over the north coast. Although we are priveliged to live here, we spend 1/2 year traveling through Europe and therefore we are looking for a responsible person, or couple, to take care of our two cats (especially our sweet fur balls), the house and the garden.
Our trip to Europe is planned to go from April to October 2019.
Your job would include the maintenance of the house, garden and cats. Therefore you wouldn't have to pay any rent, nor anything else related to the house/cats.
There is also a gardener who comes on a regular basis.
There is a small apartment on the lower floor of our house, which we are preparing for vacation rental and are applying for the official permission to do so. If all goes well, your housesitter job would also include the management of the guest apartment. With other words: Being there for the arrival and departure of guests, letting in the cleaning lady, and the gardener. Organizational work mainly.
The island of Tenerife belongs to the Canary Islands and is a wonderful natural environment in the middle of the ocean, which has an eternal springtime, they say. Hiking, fishing, water sports e.c.t , you name it, there are so many possibilities of what you can experience here!
The house is located approximately 15min. bus/car ride to the next big town, Puerto de la Cruz. The bus stop is at a 10min. walking distance.
Even though the add just went online since a couple of days, we understood that we have to add some information. For example, we received several offers from people who come from abroad ( USA,CANADA, AUSTRALIA,SOUTH AMERICAN e.c.t) Unfortunately we can't accept their offers, because you normally only get a visa for 9 weeks in Europe and we don't want to take the risk of someone being here illegal. So you might want to take this issue in consideration before answering to our add.
The other question is how you will finance your six months stay. Of course you don't have to pay rent, nor water, electricity, or any other costs that concern the house, or cats, but unfortunately we can not pay you a salary staying here.
So all your personal expenses will be to your own cost.
