We are looking for a mature, non-smoking couple to look after our 2 year old Beagle and 5 acre property from December 9th - January 21st.
We will have our main house locked up and cyclone ready in case one may pass through whilst we are away.
We have a one bedroom pool house on the property with all the amenities:
Air-conditioning, fridge, stove, microwave, shower, toilet, washing machine. There is no dryer, but one can be used at the main house if required.
Our pool does not require much maintenance as we have a company that tends to the pool once a month and will be there twice over 6 week period while we are away.
As for our dog, she pretty much has the run of the property. She doesn't really require to be walked as she is perfectly content running around the yard, chasing birds. She also just generally enjoys people and likes to be thrown a ball or a stick in the evenings. We ask that you let her out for most of the day, but be sure to lock her up at night. We have a closed in gated area for her with water, food, and a bed.
As for the property, we require someone with experience with a zero-turn lawn mower. Our property is on a sloping hill, which can make mowing a little tricky if you've never had experience. We have many rather large, tropical gardens on our property. We also have fruit trees and a veggie patch. Note: mango season will be in full swing whilst we are away. There are more mangoes on this property than you could ever eat. You are free to help yourselves. We also have lychees, longans, starfruit, passionfruit, and many other fruit trees on our property. We don’t really require a lot of maintenance to the gardens, but general weeding would be helpful.
There is a backup generator, should the power go off for any reason. We can show you how it works upon your arrival, it's quite easy to operate.
We have very supportive neighbours should you have any concerns during your stay.
About the area:
We are located in Strathdickie, in the beautiful Whitsundays. Our property overlooks the mountains and cane fields below. We are a 5 minute drive from the town of Proserpine, and abou 40 km to stunning beaches where you can fish, swim, or enjoy some beautiful restaurants right on the beach.
