Hi, Looking for a person/couple to housesit for a period of 6 months in Bantry Co. Cork. Be nice to the house, keep it warm and cosy, sweep paths and keep our garden going, grow what YOU want - not much else. We have no pets.
The house overlooks Bantry, a 10 minute walk away. It is on the Atlantic Way, near Sheepshead, Beara, lots of good walking areas. Boating down at the pier, shellfish, ferries, etc. Great food places too. Easy to manage house, internet, satellite tv, we have lots and lots of books. Organic garden and poly-tunnels.
It is still a small Irish town, has the old-style pubs and shops. Could be the perfect place for you to bring forth that novel you have been thinking about. There is also a library in town and they will order books for you. There is a a market every Friday and you can meet people from all over the world who have made this region their home.
Keep the home fire burning until we get back. read books, watch tv, use internet. Walk the Wild Atlantic Way. Visit the many islands on the south west coast. Go whale watching, sailing, kayaking. Visit stone age monuments that were in place before the pyramids. Gardening, ours is organic and we usually produce enough for the year. We have 2 poly-tunnels that produce organic food for the house - fertiliser is seaweed. The outside garden has fruit trees/bushes - they seem to know what to do. We have beautiful soil that needs work - digging , if you don't plant anything for 2019. The food in ireland is probably the best in the world - that is from someone who has spent the last 45 years working/traveling the world. I will admit some people cannot cook and what they offer is equal to what can be got elesewhere. Try the cheese or Irish beef, like nothing else.
