We are going on a trip and would like to have someone move into our home in Port Townsend, Washington and take care of our girl while we are away. She is a 60 lb female black lab who loves to walk and often gets into trouble. She is totally trained and takes care of business on her own via a doggie door.
Port Townsend is a small town which bills itself itself as a Victorian Seaport with many quirky aspects. There are numerous music and art activiies, some of them centered at Fort Warden, a WWII defense facility nestled between Puget Sound and the local hills. The fort is now a State Park We've got two large marinas as well as two ship yards, one of them quite large.
Our home is on two floors with a chair lift making transiting between levels very easy. We have about 2200 sq ft of living space and spend most of our time on the upper level which has wide views of the neighboring community as well as peek-a-boo views of Admiralty Bay, Puget Sound and neighboring islands. The weather is mild and snow is a rarity.
Aside from tending to the dog, the house sitter's responsibility will be watering house plants, occassionally waterinbg out door plants, gathering mail, etc. The house has three bedrooms, three baths, a well equippped kitchen, cable TV, WiFi, etc. The neighbors are numerous and friendly. Walking in the area is delightful if a bit hilly. Port Townsend has laws restricting chains and box stores. We have a single MacDonalds and just one Subway. All of the other numerous restaurants are local. We hve a Safeway and a QFC but the nearest Costco, HomeDepot or lowe's are about 25 miles distant,
