We are looking for a pet sitter for two cats, one dog, and two pygmy goats while we are out of town from December 14th to December 26th (we'd probably want you here on the 13th so we'd have time to show you around and a buffer in case there are flight delays, and if it makes sense for your schedule to get here earlier or stay longer, we can probably work that out).

The cats, Tod and Harry, are brothers, shy at first but affectionate once they get to know you. They're two and a half years old. The goats, Merle and Clyde, are four years old, can be laidback or mischievous depending on what mood they're in. The dog, Oscar, is an English pointer. He's 13 years old and will warm up to you immediately. He gets along great with the cats; the goats sometimes bully him.

The house is in the Treme neighborhood, about a 15 minute walk from the French Quarter, not too far from Frenchmen Street either. The temperature will have cooled off by the time you're here, so should be nice for walking around. Good music close by with the Carver Theater just down the street. The house has high ceilings, a front porch with rocking chairs, and a large fenced yard. There's a studio in the backyard with a nice deck with a barbecue grill (and a goat pen in the back). There may be a pool by the time you get here. Fast internet. Friendly neighbors.

Since this is New Orleans and people hear a lot of things about crime here, I'll say that this an urban neighborhood that's (thankfully) not yet fully gentrified, so if you're uncomfortable in that setting, this wouldn't be the best situation for you. You'll be fine walking anywhere during the day; after dark, it's probably safest to stick to well-lighted streets or take Uber or Lyft. When we rented out the guest bedroom through for a couple years, we had 141 guests stay here, from all over the world and usually without a car. No one had anything happen to them (other than a bike that was stolen when they left it unattended in the French Quarter), and the overall average rating was 4.8 out of 5. We stopped renting the room out a few years ago after David started working from home.

If you have any questions, we'd be happy to answer them.

Thanks for your interest.

- David and Emily
