Looking for someone to care for our active pup while we're on the road! Ideal sitter is someone who works from home with a flexible schedule for mid-day playtimes!
LOCATION
We are in midtown Omaha and super close to everything.
10 min drive or min bike ride to anywhere downtown: Henry Doorly Zoo, Lauritzen Gardens, the historic Old Market, newly redeveloped riverfront park, the Illuminarium, TD Ameritrade Park, Century Link Center, Joslyn Art Museum, Durham Museum, and Omaha Performing Arts Center.
10 min north or west to Blackstone, Dundee, Benson, and Aksarben neighborhoods, full of great food, drinks and shopping. You could not be more perfectly located!
HOUSE & NEIGHBORHOOD
2 story home with enclosed yard in a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood, just off a 2 mile paved walking and bike path that runs through the historic Field Club neighborhood and golf course. A 5 minute walk the other direction takes you to Hanscom Park, with a lagoon, dog park, playground and tennis courts.
You'll have access to living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms, office and basement laundry. You can use either or both of the 2 bedrooms (one queen and one double) and 2 full bathrooms. For additional guests, we can also put a futon in the office/yoga room.
Fancy TV, high speed wifi, and a couple bikes, including an e-bike with a dog cart! Car may be available if needed too.
We're pretty protective of the expansive vinyl music collection and all the fun coffee paraphernalia, but if you're interested in taking advantage of those, just talk with us first and we'll give you the necessary know-how!
PETS
For the doggo:
- He loooooves to chase, and ball is life. He needs robust exercise at least 2-3 times a day for 20 to 30 min each. This usually involves ball throwing in the yard or at the dog park, a long walk or some indoor tug of war if it's cold or rainy.
- Feed in the morning and night.
- Poop pickup in the yard as needed.
- Wipe his feet when he comes inside if he's muddy.
- Make sure he doesn't hump any lady dogs! (He's getting fixed next month.)
He tends to be nervous - especially around men - for a little while, which means either cowering or barking, so he will probably need a couple days of indirect attention (let him come to you) to warm up and settle down. Ball time and snacks will help a lot!
There's also a snake, but you will rarely even see her. We'll feed her before we leave. Maybe add water if it runs out.
We will water plants before we leave, but if anything droops, give it a glass of water!
