I'm looking for someone to look after my two cats, Ziggy and Erniček for 5 weeks in Jan/Feb Ziggy is a 12 year old Sphynx, who requires "maintenance", like all Sphynxes. I usually clean his eyes every day, bath him every few weeks, clean his ears, clip his claws and sometimes clean him after he's used the toilet. He's quite passive, so he is used to it. He has a sensitive stomach and occasionally vomits after eating first thing in the morning, but otherwise he is healthy. Ernicek is a 2 year old moggie, He's an in/out cat at my cottage in the summer, but I keep him in Prague during the winter. He's a little bit shy, but will interact when he's in his comfort zone. He loves to play hide and seek :) I also clip his claws, when he's alseep or very relaxed, but otherwise he looks after himself. Their diet is normal, with some raw meat added. Ziggy drinks a lot of water, but Erniček likes to "play" in the waterbowl, so I have to give Ziggy water regularly otherwise he will drink out of the toilet :0
I live in a new one bedroom flat in a new building located at U Elektry. The flat is on the 2nd floor, with a lift, and it has a glass balcony with colourful night views across the city.
There is a Zabka convenience store on the ground floor of the building which is open from All the main food delivery companies and supermarkets deliver here, but if you want to shop in person, there is a small shopping centre across the road with a Billa supermarket, drogerie, McDonald's, pharmacy and some small shops. Prague's weekend fleamarket (Bleší Trhy) is just across the road.
A few tram stops in either direction will take you to Harfa Shopping Mall, where there are restaurants, bigger shops, etc. A bit further will get you to Palmovka metro which gets you to Old Town in about 15 minutes. The other direction will get you to Cerny Most retail park where there is a huge shopping centre, metro, bus station, IKEA, etc.
The Rokytka river is a 5 minute walk, where you will find Park Zahradky which has a small cafe and a pond. If you want some exercise, there is a lovely 5km walking, cycling, running route along the river. You will see some local wildlife - ducks, water birds, a family of koypu, plus, if you're lucky, a heron and a kingfisher! The route goes up to and round a huge historical fish breeding pond (Hořejší Rybník) and back again.
I'm a pretty tidy person, and a non smoker, so I would just ask that whoever stays here looks after the flat and leaves everything as they find it. I will be contactable while I'm away, so I would appreciate regular updates and possibly a call once a week, if that is not too much to ask :) I look forward to meeting you and hope that you enjoy your stay in Prague, in my flat and with my beloved kitties.
