We have two six-year old, indoor ragdoll cats in a large, comfortable house with forest and water views on a quiet and private two-acre hillside property. This sit would best suit a couple or an individual looking for a rural get-away for six weeks February 9 to March 24, 2024.
You must have your own car; there is no public transport available in our neighbourhood. There is parking available in the driveway for one car.
We require a responsible, capable, independent, cat loving person or couple with recent house sitting references that can be contacted for verification.
We offer hi-speed internet/wifi, TV with some cable channels (we can get Net Flicks if you want), land-line , well-furnished comfortable house with heat pump and all mod-cons, large guest room with good linens and en-suite, and lovely views to Victoria, the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains.
We’re located in the rural community of Metchosin half hour west of Victoria, ten minutes from shopping of every kind in Langford/Colwood, five minutes from beautiful beaches (driving times) and with nearby access to hiking and biking trails including the locally famous Galloping Goose.
Responsibilities include:
Kind and gentle care of our two INDOOR male ragdoll cats Susu & Chai which includes feeding, watering, grooming, loving attention, companionship, play and twice-daily litter box maintenance. They’re independent but do adhere to important rituals of affection, belly rubs, play and snack.
Prepare sugar-water, clean and refill hummingbird feeders as required.
Water house plants once a week.
Keep house clean and tidy; leave it as it was left for you.
Manage garbage, recycling and green waste efficiently and as per instruction.
Respect heat, electricity, water and septic system usage.
No parties, no drugs, no smoking or vaping. No pets.
You must be able to manage stairs both inside and outside. The property is uphill on a good road. As this is a Feb/March sit, snow shoveling MAY be required of the short driveway if you need to get your car out to the road. We usually just hunker down during the rare snow fall.
FYI, we have honey-bee hives on the property which do not require any care at this time of the year but on a sunny day there will be bees in the garden (not near the house).
Thank you for your consideration!
