We are looking for a house and pet sitter that can stay in our home from July 18th through August 3rd, 2023. We have a sweet, friendly golden retriever named Cinder. He is very independent but super lovey. We also have an older "grey cat" (that is her name) and she loves to eat... And a couple of fish.
If you are looking for the perfect time in NY - look no further. Our home is 30 minutes by train to Grand Central (middle of NYC) - Trains run 2x an hour from town. Access to all the broadway shows, museums, neighborhoods etc. Enjoy NYC and then escape into green peace and fresh space. The picturesque town of Hastings on Hudson is right on the river with lots of fun things to do in the summer. We have a GREAT farmers market on Saturday's, weekly free music concerts in town, a town pool and more. Driving distance from lots of fun upstate sites like: DIA, Storm King, West Point. Tons of hiking trails including some that go right through our town. Cute outdoor and indoor restaurants in town.
The Animals:
Cinder is a 5 year old Golden Retriever. He likes two walks a day (morning + evening) and is fed right after each walk. He would also need fresh water and love. Our back yard is fenced so he can walk in and out the back door during the day and can be left alone. He is super friendly with other dogs. Very submissive. He hasn't met a human that he doens't love.
Grey Cat - she will wait impatiently for her morning can but other then that she feeds from a catfood feeder so that just needs to be refilled every so often. She has a litter box but in the summer prefers to go outside. She is an indoor and outdoor cat that is super indpendent. She takes some time to warm up to people.
Fish - a pinch of food a day.
The house:
We just did a full renovation of most of the house. New large top of the line kitchen. If you enjoy cooking you will love it. 4 bedrooms and a dedicated office. Three bathrooms. Did I mention, HUGE kitchen and 2 livingrooms, one dining room. Fenced in private back yard and outdoor space to grill. (We do have some tomato and veggie plants that I am sure will be in full bloom then - so you may have a lot of tomatoes). We live on a quiet cul de sac road near lots of parks.
It would be great if someone felt comfortable mowing the lawn once a week. That would be a huge plus.
We are looking for a person, couple or family that will take care of our home and make sure our animals are safe and loved. You would have a great escape in a fun location in return. We hope you enjoy the home and the location as much as we do.
