Hi! I have an adorable cat and small, mellow old dog who need some company while I'm gone. My other cat Stewie just died recently so it is just the two of them.
My apartment is in a quiet complex in Littleton (a suburb of Denver) and is right up against the mountains. The view from the balcony is just open space. It's a 1 bed, 1 bath, 750 sq ft. "luxury style" apartment with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, and the kitchen is fully stocked. It was only built a couple of years ago, so everything is in great condition, and I keep it clean and tidy. There is a king size bed, couch and balcony. I also work from home and have a stand to sit adjustable desk that you are welcome to use if you work remotely. Amenities you will have access to include a gym, pool, hot tub and walking trails around the outside of the complex. Washer and dryer in unit for your use.
My place is on the very edge of the Denver metro area, so you will need a car or be willing to Uber/Lyft. Grocery stores and a lot of other shopping is very close, just a couple of minutes. Additionally, it is only a few minutes to the nearest hiking trail and has easy access to all highways that will get you into the mountains.
My cat Conrad is a sweet but shy boy and quite a talker. He's not cuddly with new people but is very sweet and social once he gets to know you. He's a little scared of strangers initially since he came from an abusive situation, so it takes him a few days to be himself around new people. He plays occasionally but otherwise mostly does his own thing.
Joey is a very easy dog overall and very low energy. He is struggling a bit recently with some dementia and restlessness, which sometimes makes him forget his potty training. He is getting CBD which is helping, but still sometimes forgets in the evenings that he is supposed to wait to go out. I have potty pads he will mostly use and plenty of cleaning supplies. He is slightly shy with strangers but warms up quickly and then just wants to cuddle and be near you. He doesn't play or need any real exercise. He used to be very scared of fireworks but he is mostly deaf now so you won't have to worry about keeping him calm :)
Responsibilities: Make sure Conrad has food (he is free fed so no specific feeding times, just make sure the bowl is full). Litter box needs to be scooped once a day. Conrad is not picky about a clean litter box, so no need to panic if you miss a day. Joey is fed twice a day with some meds (which he eats with no problem) and taken out to potty 3+ times per day.
Collect mail from mail room. Water a few house plants and the container garden on the balcony. Keep hummingbird feeder full if you wish :)
