I am looking for a house sitter for most of June and possibly the 1st week of July to care for my home, very small garden, yard and possibly my dog Romeo. It is unclear at this time if he will be traveling with me.
My home is located in the Sandia Mountains, an area called the East Mountains, outside of Albuqueque. It sits at 6900 ft elevation in the pinon and ponderosa pines. National Forest and Wilderness access is just across the street for spectacular hiking. It is a very warm and comfortable home, remodeled within the past 10 years. Non-smoking household. The neighborhood is very quiet and it is an easy 20 minute commute to Albuquerque. Santa Fe is one hour away on one of the most beautiful drives in NM.
My garden is very small and needs brief daily watering along with a few planters. Depending on the rains my yard may need a little mowing, once a week at the very most. House plants will need watering once a week.
If Romeo stays home he will need to be walked 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the evening. He loves to hike and I would prefer someone who would enjoy this as well to keep Romeo fit and entertained. He has a large fenced yard and can easily be left for several hours up to 8 hours occassionally. He is very well trained on a leash and loves to play but is also a very quiet and loveable dog. He is 70lbs.
June is peak fire season in NM if there are no rains. Daily consideration needs to be given to this risk when leaving the house. Communication with neighbors for home and/or pet evacuation would be trained/coordinated with you upon your arrival.
A non-smoker is required. As mentioned above ideally you would be excited about the hiking opportunities and able to take Romeo for a hike 1-2 times/week.
