Hello! We seek a pet sitter who can perform glucose checks and give injections to our sweet diabetic cat Lucy while we are in Central Mexico for the summer. We also have a second cat - a lovable, dopey orange tabby who loves human affection and attention.
Lucy's condition is well-managed and she purrs when you give her the lancet poke as well as the shot. The issue is simply that her care must be managed, which is a twice daily task at approximately 7am and 7pm. Our regular pet sitter will be on call to help you as needed (we will pay the cost).
In return, you'll stay in a beautiful, historic home in one of the best and most walkable neighborhoods in Tucson, Arizona!
Our home was built in 1947 and is an updated 3 bedroom, 3 bath, with a living room, family room, study, kitchen, and a nicely sized backyard with a gazebo. We have fast wifi and friendly neighbors who look out for each other. Plus, you will be staying in an incredible location near the worldclass University of Arizona, Reid Park (Tucson’s “Central Park”), and downtown Tucson.
We live 3 blocks from Natural Grocers,, the James Beard Award-winning artisanal bakery Barrio Bread, a bikram yoga studio, 3 restaurants (Bisbee Breakfast Club, Falora Pizza, and Sushi Garden), Side Car cocktail lounge, a nail salon, and more. We’re about a .5 mile walk to Reid Pak, 1.5 miles to UA, and 7 minutes drive to fabulous downtown Tucson for restaurants and cultural activities! We are also a mile from El Con Mall (Target, Starbuck’s, Home Depot, PetSmart, etc.). And because of our central location, it’s easy to get to I-10 and all areas of Tucson for everything you need.
Tucson is the US's first designated City of Gastronomy. We have some of the best chefs in Tucson and an amazing array of cuisines - including some of the best tacos and Latin fusion you'll find anywhere. We have tons of hiking trails, several great art museums, a botanical garden, lots of craft breweries, a variety of tourist attractions, and we are only 1 hour from Southern Arizona Wine Country, which has 19 wineries.
In July and August, you'll experience the excitement of our desert monsoons: incredible storms that bring beautiful skies, fantastic desert smells, and water to our washes. Hiking is wonderful after one of these storms.
You'll have use of our bicycles and can jump on them from our driveway and get to a myriad of bike paths - including a route that takes you downtown without riding on the street. Tucson is a big biking city - we have a 150 mile paved path system called The Loop.
