Three bedroom house in the Marin County town of San Anselmo. House is 1 mile walk to downtown San Anselmo, as well as the lovely town of Fairfax. Hiking, biking, good restaurants all within easy reach. San Francisco is a half hour drive, or can be reached by bus or ferry.
You would be caring for a small (30 lb) Beagle dog named Dio who requires a reasonable amount of exercise--a short morning walk, and a decent half- to one-hour afternoon walk or run, then an evening walk of minutes. Completely housetrained. We have a fenced in yard that the dog can use as much as you or he wish. He's quiet, gentle, and well-behaved, although, being a Beagle, needs to be on a leash at all times (except indoors or in the yard, or the local dog park). Beagles tend to wander off, following their nose, so the leash is a requirement. He can be left alone at home for up to 4-5 hours, but may be unhappy if left for much longer than that.
San Anselmo has a wonderful dog park about a mile away, fully fenced, where dog owners can relax and let their dogs socialize.
We also have an 18-year-old cat who would need to be fed and watered, and her litterbox managed occasionally. She also has to take a pill every day; administering it just means putting it in front of her and making sure she eats it.
Aside from taking in the mail and newspapers, no other services would be required. We have TV, high speed wireless internet, good music system. House is vintage but completely updated and very comfortable. Neighborhood is quiet, friendly, and safe.
Marin County is one of the most beautiful and safe places in the world, with endless outdoor opportunities, as well as easy access to San Francisco and Wine Country.
