We have no human children, just one 2 y/o fur-child named Lola who we adore. She has her AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification. She is 4.5 pounds and hoping we can find someone who is comfortable working with little ones.
We have lived in this home since 2013. We have 2 guestrooms, a room that was converted into an office that includes a futon (not pictured), and a gym room with equipment to use. Our basement is fully furnished which is where we like to spend a lot of our time cuddling with Lola while watching movies with our home theater system. We live in a residential area in the second largest city in Michigan. It is only 10 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids. We have all the perks of the city without the noise. Our street is lined with beautiful large trees that change color in the fall. We have anything you need within a 10 minute drive (or you can bike for just a few extra minutes longer!) and the airport is 20min away. We also have a bus stop at the entrance of our neighborhood. We are known as Beer City, USA for the numerous craft breweries in the area. Lake Michigan is about 45 minute drive. We have all four seasons, and May is a beautiful time weather wise to be here. Tulip Time in Holland occurs in May and is only a half hour away.
Lola loves to sleep in the bed with you, and will happily cuddle and let you sleep in as long as you want. When the weather is nice, she likes to get 2 walks minutes per day. I do once before work, and once after to help expel that energy. If the weather is bad, I usually will do an interactive toy or game. She self feeds and does well with letting you know she needs to go out. Our yard is not fenced in, so she will need to be put on her lead. When exploring the area, she can be crated with a kong filled with frozen peanut butter, ideally no more than 6 hours but has been in 8 hours as long as it's not a regular thing. We both work from home, and she is used to having us around most of the day. She also loves to venture out and we have a sling to carry her if needed.
