Hello. I have had long-term housesitters at my home in Ketchum since July yes, 2020) but am ready to spend more time at home. They are not able to be here for the last month before I return so I am looking for other loving house sitters who can enjoy this area and take care of my one dog and two cats.
The location
Sun Valley/Ketchum, Idaho is a unique area. Sun Valley is best known for being the #1 ski resort in the country and Ketchum has a small-town feel with big-city opportunities. Outdoor adventures here are endless – from hiking, mountain biking, fishing, xc skiing, and snowshoeing. The weather dictates what is available. In-town activities include world-class music, quality dining, and a stellar performance hall. The local grocery stores sell high-quality produce. If you like to read, the library is first-rate and you don’t need to be a local to check out books.
The house
My house is large, comfortable, and well-appointed with multiple areas to hang out in. The view of the ski slopes is tremendous. If you enjoy cooking, the kitchen is excellent with all the appliances you’d need. There is fast internet and lots of tv options. Your guest bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. The house is not suitable for those with mobility issues (stone stairs) or children.
The area
The house is situated close to Ketchum (1 mile with a walking path) but there are also hikes up to 4 miles directly behind the house. You can walk to Sun Valley Village for fine dining, an excellent bakery, and a beautifully appointed day spa. A nearby bus stop will take you into Ketchum, as well as nearby Hailey.
The pets
Chispa, is an energetic small Shih Tzu mix and an extremely happy dog. She is a sensitive soul who just wants to be near you. She has tons of energy but as she ages, she is losing her hearing and just needs more visual clues. Potter and Chloe are big cats with big personalities. It’s hard to decide which one has the most luxurious coat. Both of them are easy-going and love a good snuggle. All three of them love company but are fine to spend the day by themselves.
Sitter responsibilities
Chispa needs two short walks a day but also has a side yard for bathroom needs. All three of them get fed twice a day and Chispa gets a medication pill in her food. The other basic responsibilities include cleaning the kitty litter, watering a few plants, taking the trash out, and picking up the mail from the post office in Ketchum. It would be great if you could keep the house as clean and tidy as you find it.
It is advantageous to have a car here. Also, outdoor activities here are dependent on the weather in the spring. It could be cold or warm, but usually sunny. That is why it's called Sun Valley.
