Our house is in the town of McLaren Vale, population about 5000. It is a 50 minute drive south of the city of Adelaide and is the hub of the wine growing region of McLaren Vale. There are around 80 winery cellar doors within 5-20 minutes drive. It has ducted reverse cycle air conditioning, a modern kitchen with dishwasher and NBN internet access. We also have Foxtel and Netflix. There is a covered all weather patio with WeberQ for outdoor dining. The house block is about 750 sqm and is in a quiet street within a few minutes walk to a range of cellar doors, cafes and restaurants.
The Southern Vales are a beautiful rural area, with the town being surrounded by vineyards. It is just beyond the southern suburbs of Adelaide.. The Adelaide CBD is 50 minutes by car or a 10 minute drive to the Seaford train station and 50 minutes on the train. There is a pub and 2 supermarkets in the main street. We also have 2 dedicated cycling and walking tracks nearby which lead to the towns of Willunga (8km) and McLaren Flat (5km). There is a big farmers market on every Saturday morning in Willunga. I am a volunteer Information Officer at the McLaren Vale Visitor Centre so can advise on the best things to see and do locally.
We are also just a few minutes drive from a range of beautiful white sand beaches and seaside towns such as Port Willunga, Moana, Aldinga and Port Noarlunga.
We are looking for a house sitter/s to look after our 12yo female Shetland Sheepdog. Preferably a retired couple/person happy to spend a day or 2 with us before we leave so she can get to know you. She is stand-offish with people initially but will come around soon enough. Also need someone to water the garden as needed.
