We need a house sitter from April 14, 2023 to Friday May 5, 2023. We had a new home built in a 55+ active lifestyle community (you don't need to be over 55 to do the house sit) in Beacon Falls Ct. We have a single story home with a basement. No need to use stairs unless you want to. We moved in about 3 months ago. Now after the move and the COVID lockdowns... we are ready to take a trip.
We have used housesitters from House Carers for approx 18 years and have had wonderful people stay from all over the world. We can provide references if you would like.
The maintainence of the grounds around our home is provided by the community. No mowing of lawns. We have a housekeeping service that comes every other week so daily upkeep is all that is needed.
Our main concern is taking care of our sweet rescue dog, Murphy. We rescued her in Jan of 2020 from a shelter in NV. She was both neglected and abused when we rescued her so she has some anxiety issues. She is sweet, loving and shy. Loves to go for walks and loves to eat. She does not bark (we are not sure why). She takes medication for her anxiety morning and evening but even so there are times that it gets the best of her. She is never distructive but simply sits and her entire body shakes when she gets too anxious. A short walk or extra attention takes care of this. Seperation anxiety is part of her problem so we try not to leave her alone for more than 3 hours. If you want to go somewhere for a longer period, we can get a dog sitter/walker in the neighborhood to stop by.
Beacon Falls is a quiet little town north of New Haven Ct. In the area are winerys, micro brewerys, farms with naturally raised meats, orchards and homemade pies. We drive approx 17 min to an upscale Grocery Store/market or 12 min to a regular grocery store
Our neighbors here are amazing, friendly and helpful.
We moved here from Las Vegas NV and love the "country" livestyle.
