I have a home just outside Sunriver, Or. that is situated on five acres at the foot of Mt. Bachlor. Close to skiing, Sunriver Resort amenities, Groceries and necessities and 20 minutes to the great small city of Bend. It's a friendly area and Bend is quite "hip" and seems to have everything I can dream up. It's in the pines and the stars are so bright.
I have one cat that I may or may not leave, depending on the rest of my plans. I thought I already had a housesitter and pet companion, but that didn't work out, so it's possible that I can set it up for the party who is recommended through an angency like this can even come after I've left, if communication feels good.
There's two houses on the propeerty. The main house has a mini-split heat pump which is wonderful and a good, certified wood stove in both dwellings. There's a little wood here but it'd be good to get more wood if you're here long. There's wood to be split and bucked on the property that might get done beofer I leave, but there;s neighbors around with wood for sale and splitters to rent and many goods and services. I have a medical condition that is going to be better if I move to an area where I can walk to goods and services. I'm starting in Mexico but may end up back in the states or with my family in Canada. This house may go on the market to sell while I'm gone.
It's less than 5 minutes to the resort town of Sunriver, less than 20 min to Bend or the ski mountain, Mt Bachelor. I do much of my shopping in La Pine 9 miles away, but I have a sun porch for growing greens etc. and I buy my farm eggs, sourdough bread and get my hair cut within a mile radius. Some winters it does snow, more than Bend. But other years it's quite dry. We hope for snow this year!
