We are an animal loving couple in our late 60s. We previously worked as a Police officer and Local government officer in the UK. We built our house 19 years ago, set in a beautiful wooded valley in the centre of Andros, with spectacular views. We have a large plot of about 1 acre, comprising of house, woodland and garden bordered by a stream, a most magical setting! Andros is a quiet island renowned for its beautiful walks and hiking trails in addition to lovely beaches and clear water. would occasionally like to return to the UK for a few weeks at a time to spend more time with our growing band of grandchildren. We are looking for a house sitters to take care of our animals and enjoy our house and island as much as we do.
OUR HOME
The house was built in 2004, and consists of a 3 bedroomed house and 2 bed apartment. it also has a small well equipped Gym. We are sited in the village of Remmata, in a most beautiful green valley, with amazing views from all parts of the house. The style of the house is modern with central heating. We have satellite TV. Also recently installed high speed broadband. The valley boasts much wildlife and is a ideal spot for bird lovers. The island does not have much in the way of clubs and night life, although there are some good restaurants. It is however, perfect for anybody seeking rest and relaxation. An international driving licence is required. Car may be made available depending on circumstances. Local car hire is freely available and can be arranged at preferential rates. Because of the size of house and number of animals, this sit is best suited to couples.
RESPONSIBILITIES
For this particular sit, which is just over one month we would ask any sitters to be responsible for the feeding and exercising of 1 small dog, and Lexi, our GSD for one walk per day. Also the giving of medication to older dog. There will be garden watering. Good mobility is important as our terrain is quite hilly. Cats pretty self sufficient, just need feeding daily.
