We have two small/medium-size lb )dogs, Mabel and Mia. They are rescues who are sweet and non-aggressive, though utterly untrained—"sit" is about as far as it goes. They get fed twice a day and walked three three times a day. Mabel likes to go to the neighborhood dog run. They like other dogs, and all people. Mabel is gregarious and loves being out and about. Mia is very nervous and would prefer to stay in other than having her walks. She occasionally has accidents inside. She is scared of thunderstorms and fireworks and likes to sleep under the bed.
Our 900 square-foot apartment is airy and bright with high ceilings and farmhouse decor. We are two flights up in a small pre-war building. We have a spacious kitchen, large dining/living area that points south and gets plenty of sunshine and a view of the Manhattan Bridge.
We live on the border of the East Village and the Lower East Side in Manhattan. As soon as you step outside you are a short walk from restaurants, galleries, music venues, theaters, museums, and community gardens. Wander downtown Chinatown, Little Italy, or ramble west toward Greenwich Village and Soho, Washington Square Park, and NYU. We are directly across from two delicious restaurants and close to several subway lines.
There's always something happening here and the neighborhood is eclectic— a mix of people who have lived here forever to artists, actors, activists, etc.
