We are looking for a housesitter from May 23 to June 28 for our four furry friends. We have two dogs and two cats.
Our dogs are pretty low key. By way of introduction, Sally is a 12 year old basset mix. She's a sweet as can be and pretty much sleeps all day. She'd love a belly rub now and again. She needs eye drops and an occasional brushing. She doesn't hike, but treating her to a quick spin around the block makees her really happy.
Ziggy is a pittie mix. She loves to walk. That said, she loves to explore so needs to stay leashed at all times. Mostly she likes to hang out and will want to be wherever you are in the house.
CATS:
Mr. Kitten is a 5 year old bold but friendly house cat. He loves to cuddle, if you are sitting down somewhere. Mrs. Jones is a petite female cat. She is shy at first, but once she warms up to you will love to hang out with you and get head scratches.
Our house is in a quiet neighborhood. Lots of outdoor amenities here. A huge variety of mountain trails are within a 15 to 30 minute drive. Rocky Mountain National Park is about 40 minutes away. There is a popular neighborhood lake park 5 minute walking distance. Bald eagles, herons, prairie dog, and red tail sightings are common there.
Denver is a 45 minute drive (depending on traffic) and Boulder is about 20 minutes from here. Offerings include live music, night life, theater, restaurants, museums, Zoo, botanical gardens, and Rockies games. For live music, check out Red Rocks Ampitheather.
Longmont itself is a cute smaller town with a variety of good restaurants, lots of grocery store choices (Krogers to Whole Foods), a lively farmer's market on Saturdays and an organic farm stand just up the road. We also have our own share of great restaurants, micro-breweries and downtown area with a quaint shopping street.
Our house is a typical 1970's built house. We'll set your bedroom up in the back sunroom as it is bright and breezy. We have a pretty front garden. The backyard is fenced for the dogs, we have a simple grill for your use and place to dine or lounge outside.
We have high speed internet, not tv service but we will happily share our subscription services with you.
Be warned we do not have central air conditioning but do have some window units. The units get the house comfortable, but if you are used to a super cooling whole house system you may be disappointed.
If you drive stick shift, we have a subaru forester that you could use to get around town. It's a 2004, lots of miles, completely trustworthy for around town and to get to local trailheads and the Rocky Mountain National Park. It isn't a car to go up deep into the mountains, however.
