I am looking for a mature non-smoker, no pets, no children, who is a responsible housesitter to look after a 2-bedroom house. This will include snow shovelling/minimal garden maintenance as needed seasonally. No pet care is required. The house needs to be cleaned weekly. I would appreciate reimbursement for utilities used.
The house is in a fantastic area, a 7 minute walk to the platform at Chester Station, which is 4 stations from Bloor and Yonge at the heart of the city. It is also served by two streetcar lines that go downtown (via King or Dundas), about a five minute walk away. There are also car share services within a short walk. It is not necessary to have a car with all these amenities, but a temporary street parking permit may be available from the city. Supermarkets, including a large health food one, as well as several greengrocers, are within a short walk. So are numerous affordable restaurants and take outs.
The house has DSL internet access and a 46 inch television internet-ready tv which receives Netflix, Prime (sign in to your accounts) and , with a theatre sound system. I am not connected to cable at present though the house is wired for it.
The house is very nice and has a well-equipped kitchen, washer, dryer, dishwasher, a/c etc. There are two bedrooms, of which you would use the guest bedroom, and two full baths. The office is reserved for my use. There are two small sitting rooms in addition to the main living-dining room; one of them has the tv and a modest amount of exercise equipment. The internet has an annoying tendency to drop occasionally, coming back in a few minutes after you reboot the modem. I have tried everything to fix it, to no avail. For most including me this is a minor inconvenience, but if you are working remotely and can't have this happen during a crucial zoom, this may not be the place for you.
