We are very experienced house and pet-sitters ourselves, This time we are looking for someone who would treat our home and 14 year old miniature poodle with respect and care while enjoying the convenience and beauty of our historic neighborhood and of our apartment in a lovely, pre-war and staffed apartment building.
Brooklyn Heights is just one or two subway stops away from Manhattan. The apartment is 1.5 blocks from the Hudson River promenade with stunning sunsets and views of "the city." The building also has a roof deck with 360 degree views of the area-----including the Manhattan skyline and the State of Liberty. You'd be within short walking distances of grocery stores with very different price points and inventory including middle eastern and asian ones multiple pharmacies; playgrounds and dog parks, a YMCA with a pool and gym equipment is also nearby; great coffee shops, a couple of excellent neighborhood restaurants with other wonderful ones a bit of a further walk or short subway or bicycle ride away.
The apartment itself is a two bedroom, 2 bath (one with a combination bath and shower, the other split between a powder room with a bidet and a double soaking jacuzzi tub with handheld shower) very light space on an upper floor in the elevator building. One bedroom has a queen size bed; the other a comfortable ull out soffa bed. There are cash-operated washer dryers in the basement of the building. We are in the process of decluttering it from a recent move so will be posting photos shortly. It and our furniture have a somewhat old world feel (lots of hand-me-downs from parents and grandparents). The kitchen is small but very well equipped.
Rufi sleeps a lot when home and frolics a lot when outside for his 4 short daily walks or dog park visits. Feeding him twice a day and managing his water intake is very simple; and insuring that he gets his once a day "shot" (squirted down his throat) for his cough is about all he requires. Though a tug of war with you over his stuffed animal would be very much appreciated as well.
There are also about 8 to 10 plants that will require watering. If I can keep them alive, you can I assure you.
We will be leaving town on the evening of the 3rd of June so arriving that day should give us pllenty of time for face-to-face interaction before we leave. We will be reachable by what'sapp and while gone and we have family living very nearby as well.
We'd like to communicate through the or if you're open to that before we choose a few people to have a zoom or what's app or FaceTime video chat. So we may not be able to make a decision for a couple of weeks. If that's OK with you, we look forward to hearing from you!
