Seeking a responsible, caring and attentive couple or individual to house and dog sit for two older dogs while we travel overseas in May 2022 for two weeks. We have a lovely home in a tightknit neighborhood with friendly neighbors in the suburbs of Washington DC. Our two rescue dogs, Stormy (a catahoula mix) and Clara (a beagle/basset hound mix) are about 12 years old and are easy keepers. Their favorite hobbies are mealtimes, snoozing on their dog beds – especially if there’s a sun patch and inspecting their fenced back yard. Stormy enjoys a brief walk in the morning and a short walk around the neighborhood late afternoon while Clara naps. Clara is arthritic (and on medication) and her mobility is limited. Both dogs are very quiet and well behaved. We also have a fish aquarium that requires once a day feeding. We always provide sitters with a written list of instructions and emergency contacts.
We have used Housecarers in the past and have met some wonderful people! Our home is ideally situated between two metro stops should you desire to visit the sights of Washington DC a few times during your stay. We only ask that you return to care for Stormy and Clara no later than 4 pm. While we are away, we would like our house sitters to stay in contact to give us updates about our dogs. Our home is clean and comfortable and would like to ask that our house sitters are non-smokers and fully vaccinated.
