We have a quiet place on a high bank at the edge of a large bay, with a magical view of sunsets over the Ottawa River. It is located approximately one hour from both Ottawa and Montreal, and the US border. We are looking for nonsmoking, respectful and dependable animal lovers to care for our sixteen year old very laid-back, friendly and talkative cat.
You will need a car as there is no public transportation in the area. We are fully vaccinated and insist that sitters are as well. We will be happy to set up a Zoom or with short-listed sitters to answer any questions you may have. There are many good hiking opportunities nearby, and both Montreal and Ottawa have much to offer. Bird watchers will enjoy just sitting by the window and watching "life on the bay". For the winter sit, we can practically guarantee a white Christmas. Normally, the bay will freeze over for cross-country skiing, ice fishing and other sports. World class ski hills are close by. We leave a list of sights and activities for enjoyable day trips. Sitters must commit to being at home each night. Please note that we have two posted periods (Dec. 11-Jan 18 and Jan 24 - March 3), seperated by a 6-day interval during which we come home to attend to appointments. Those who would like to apply for both blocks of time could take the opportunity to visit other places during these 6 days, or you are welcome to stay with us. You will have your own floor, sitting area, private bath, etc. We will be busy.
Couples who could do both periods would be preferred, but we'll seriously consider every cat lover. We'll set up a or zoom with shortlisted candidates to answer your questions. Many thanks!
