We are Mike and Fiona, and we live in Cosby, Tennessee, in the beautiful Smokie Mountains. We live on 16 acres, backing onto the Foothills Parkway and National Forest, with lots of trees, meadows and with 3 running creeks on the property.
Our house is nestled amongst the trees with views of the mountains, creeks and meadows.
We would ask house sitters to live in this modern, newly completed house where they will be able to enjoy all modern conveniences; 2 full bath/shower, fully equipped kitchen, queen bed and large living area; wi-fi, TV, heat and AC, sit on the screened in porch immediately behind the house. You feel like you are in a tree house bacause of the views. There is also a deck by the creek with a firepit and comfortable seating,
We have 2 dogs: Gigha, a 4 year old Anatolian Shepard, Skye, an 11 year old West Highland Terrier and 2 outside cats Sage and Thyme. They are nearly a year old.
Gigha is a lovable goofy giant 120 lb + walking hair ball. Anatolians are stubborn, independent and very loyal. Once he knows you, you will become part of his pack and he will love you ….. helped by lots of hot dogs! Good on a lead and a great watchdog.
Skye is the boss and even Gigha is a little afraid of her. She hates it when he steps on her. She is another independent minded dog but she loves people. She seldom stays white for long as she is not precious in the least!
The two dogs really love each other and after very careful, tentative and gradual introductions have accepted our cats who hang out with them all the time. We think they believe they are dogs too as they come on walks with us and enjoy hot dog treats as much as the dogs do!
This area is fantastic.
Cosby Is ideally suited for people who love seclusion but want the convenience of being close to shops, attractions, orchards, beautiful walks/hikes and abundant bird life. This is a small rural community surrounded by national forests and beautiful places, with easy access to everything.
Cosby itself has some great café’s, convenience stores and a couple of attractions.
We are 15 miles from Newport, a small town that has several grocery stores, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens etc.
We are 20 miles from the Gatlinburg, main entrance to the Smoky Mountain National Park, many fun tourist attractions, and some great restaurants.
We are 22 miles from Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. Dollywood and many other attractions and activities, outlet mall, interesting shops and again, restaurants.
Cosby is approximately 1 hour from Knoxville and 1 hour from Ashville.
We are asking that the sitters come a few days early so that out Anatolian will get to know and trust them.
We would ask that some mowing is done and would prefer a couple.
