I'm looking for someone to sit and help at my farm after my surgery in January. Timing is fairly flexible of when to start (Dec 1st could be realistic) but animals would need food in the morning. The house is on 5 acres, and is two bedroom with a computer room.
Farm experience definitely a plus. I usually bring chains next to the goat shed as I'm letting them out and chain them one at a time before letting them graze. It's probably the hardest part of the job since they can be a bit impatient but even with my bad leg and no help I don't have a real problem now that I have a system (the goats are very friendly).
Perks include
*5 acres of pasture to explore including some woods. There is a friendly rabbit owner who lives diagonally from me through the woods on the next street.
*wi-fi internet at fastest speed satellite possible, though I tend to use my which is faster (verizon).
Job includes: Feeding rabbits, chickens, and goats. This includes moving rabbit and chicken cages a couple feet to new areas each day as the animals are semi-pastured.
(Maintaining driveway during snow and sleet and ice. I do have ice melter but you would need to do some shoveling to keep the way clear for yourself and your vehicle.)
Watching/watering plants and gathering eggs from chicken coop. This and feeding animals can be done within 1 hour a day.
Timing and arrangements are pretty flexible but I should avoid strenuous activity starting Jan 20th for a good month. We hope to sell the house in March but housesitting may still be an option at that point.
