We live on Cape Cod and are seeking a live-in pet sitter(s) for the period of November 5th to November 21st for our yellow lab pup, Sophie. This would be a perfect fit for someone who is working remotely.
Sophie is 19 months old and she is 80 pounds. Although she looks full grown, she is, in all ways, still a puppy. She has been and still is being trained. Labs usually don't stop being puppies until they are three years old (if you're lucky). She has a very sweet way about her and when inside generally likes to be where you are, she doesn't much like being alone unless she is sleeping, which she does a fair amount of during the day.
We crate her overnight and also when we leave the house. She has an impish side to her and left to her own devices can find something to steal (socks, paper, hats, maybe even a stick of butter if it's within reach). She is a good dog with a great disposition but in the interest of full disclosure, she has her moments where she is still very much a puppy. Exercise is a good calming influence for her. We walk her every day and our neighborhood is well suited for that. She is kind and gentle but is very strong when she becomes over-exuberant, which isn't very often.
She is up every morning around 6:45 and needs to be taken out to do her business and then we arrive at her very favorite time of the day, breakfast time! Actually, any meal time is her favorite time of the day. About an hour or two after that she usually settles in for a good long morning nap. There is also a kennel we use that is located nearby where you can bring her for daytime puppy play once or twice per week. Normally we feed her dinner around 4:00PM every day. Evenings are usually very quiet and she settles in around 6 or 6:30 for the night, we usually crate her around 9:30 or so for the evening.
We can board her for the time we are away although we prefer not to, as two weeks plus at a kennel just doesn't sit right with us.
This request is more about pet sitting than house sitting, the house will be fine while we're away, we live on a cul de sac with great neighbors, we all keep an eye out when any of us are away. I think you would find the house quite homey and comfortable.
