Good morning! My wife and I are new to using a home sitter so bear with me if I don't supply all the info you need. We are fledgling homesteaders in Gilman Vermont. We purchased our 55acre property a year and a half ago. From Nov 1 to March 14 we will be in Texas wrapping up our former 9-5 life.
We are non smokers with two great kids. We enjoy hard work, simple pleasures, the outdoors, growing food, and enjoying life.
Our farm, Willow Grape, is in northern Vermont. The winter months are cold and snowy but beautiful. Our farmhouse is well built(1850s) and has radiators and a pellet stove for warmth. We are fully stocked with hot coco and coffee too! The house has character though. Uneven floors in spots, lots of natural light, fantastic views of the forests, and is a stone throw away from the Connecticut river. The stars here are amazing as we are very rural. However the previous owners of our farm are just a short walk away. They are marvelous people who operate an animal rescue and grooming service (also just down the road).
Gilman is a 20m drive to Littleton NH with shops and activities. 20m the other way is Lancaster NH.
In your care would be 16 chickens (in large coop) 3 small Nigerian goats(in the barn in winter), a short road that would need to be shoveled as needed, and of course keeping the house.
If you like quite, serene, beautiful places then this could be an ideal fit!
Please let me know if you're interested and would like some pics of our property. I look forward to meeting you!
