We need a house sitter to take care of our beautiful mountain home while we travel -- from August 19, 2024 to September 9, 2024.  Our home is an A-frame, 1760 square feet, in a rural area surrounded by trees.  It has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, a big deck, a hot tub, a 1/2 acre fenced yard, a wi-fi network, and a flat screen TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime but no cable.

There are 2 super-cute affectionate dogs, both about 32 pounds.  One of them is older,  has only 3 legs and would love to go for walks, but really she can't.  The other is very athletic and she can go anywhere and is a joy to watch run.

The house is at 7,000 feet, so it's much cooler than surrounding areas. This is one of the very best times of year -- the rainy season (such as it is) is near the end, so everything is green.  We're 25 miles from Albuquerque and 45 from Santa Fe.  There is no public transportation in the area.  We are adjacent to great hiking trails.

The house sitter must not smoke or allow others to smoke in the house or yard.

Staying with Sweet Pea and Gracie was such a pleasure.  They are the most loving dogs, and perfectly behaved.  They love and appreciate any attention and give back equally.  The same goes for their delightful owners, who have created an enchanting home life in the East Mountains of Albuquerque.  For a visitor, it's the best of all worlds--hidden nature splendor along with groceries, restaurants and activities within 10-15 minutes, Santa Fe in less than an hour and downtown Albuquerque is just 20 minutes.  The vibe of both the home and the area is brilliant.  I hope to visit again.

We had a fantastic stay in Cedar Crest, NM at Phyllis and Rick's abode, known as Sueños Landing. They treated us like "family."

They had clear instructions and pertinent information about the house & spa, all prepared upon our arrival.

The doggie "girls", Sweetpea and Gracie, were a lot of fun and well-trained. We count them now as top competitors for the Most, Bestest Ever! of man's best friend. The girls kept us entertained and laughing every day. 

The home is decorated from their travels around the world--a visual feast. They are located such that ABQ and Santa Fe were easily accessible.

There is an abundance of hiking trails out their front door and lots of Indigenous and early territorial history throughout the area. 


We would housesit for them again at the drop of a hat.
