We are looking for an Experienced... easygoing, relaxed and clean conscious home/pet sitter comfortabke with animals... as we have 5 dogs who are very much a part of our family.
Our furbabies are all rescues from this area and are allowed free run from inside the house to outside the house in a secured area that does not allow them access to the front gate and do not go outside of our yard....They are all pretty laid back and contented with very individual personalities. Some are love bugs and some are very shy and do not warm up quickly.
The responsibility of the sitter will be:
-to feed our 5 dogs twice a day.and take care of thier everyday needs.
-water plants 3x a week
- make sure garbage is put out weekly
-keeping our home tidy and clean.
-Maintain our above ground pool
What we will supply:
We will pay all the water, utility and internet bills and supply the gas for cooking and hot water.
Our Home
We live in a quaint house on a quiet street with bus access 1/2 block away to go to Progreso or Chicxulub
Our home is 1 bedrooms and 2 baths with an open concept kitchen /Living room ...we do not have air conditioners in our home but we do have an abundance of fans and a dehumidifier. The outside space is fully gated and secured.
We are located 2 blocks or "calles" from the beach and about a 10 minute bus ride to Chicxulub....where you will find market shopping and a medium sized grocery store. We also have larger grocery stores and Markets in Progreso which is about 15 bus ride.
About Progreso
Progreso is the largest port town in the Yucatan. Most of the surrounding areas are smaller fishing villages that still sustain thier living fishing...so fresh fish is abundant here. We have a beautiful Malecon ( walk way) that is perfect for taking a stroll on or watching a stunning sunset.
There are very large expat communities here so it is easy to make friends and learn more about this area. The Yucatan is know for its culture and ruins...which there is an abundance of both here. The Ruins are mostly a day trip...which you can access by car or take a day tour to see.
The Cuisine in Progreso is mainly Yucatecan and a variety of foreign foods also.The favorite here with the local people is fried whole fish or "pescado frito"...and ceviche.
Knowing a little spanish is helpful but not always necessary...I recommend... duolingo...an online learning tool.there are many who speak english and just as many that dont. The local people are very friendly and helpful .
We are 25 minutes away from Merida , which is a large Metropolitan City and a great place to shop or just see the beauty of this colonial city.
