I am seeking a house sitter to care for my home and garden during the periods of June 1 through August My home is situated in a quiet, rural area in the tropical jungles of Costa Rica. It features outstanding views of Lake Arenal and Volcano Arenal, and beautiful tropical gardens. Birds, monkeys, and other wild life are abundant. This area has a mild climate with temperatures ranging from 65 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit Celsius). Access to the lake is only a five minute walk where one can swim, fish, kayak, sail, paddle board, wake board, or simply lounge by the water or on one of the large, covered floating platforms.
The property is on a bus line though a car is recommended. (I have one for rent at a lower rate than the commercial rentals.) It is a 30 minute walk to a small market and an excellent restaurant. The town of Nuevo Arenal is 12 minutes by car and has restaurants, shops, bars, churches, gas station, bank, and grocery stores. Two larger towns are minutes drive away: one east (La Fortuna) and one west (Tilaran). There are also numerous tours available within 1-2 hours, including waterfalls, hiking, rafting, zip lining, horseback riding, and hot springs. Ocean beaches are within a 2 hour drive.
This is a new, two story home and the space available is the second story, one-bedroom apartment, with fully equipped kitchen and a large terrace. There are laundry facilities and a second full bathroom downstairs. The lower living area is my private home and will be locked off.
I will be away from June 1 to June 15 and again from July 7 to August 1. I would like to have the property occupied during as much of this time as possible. Should you wish to stay the full two months, you will be sharing the property with myself and my 11 year old granddaughter for the weeks of June15 - July 8. Alternately, you may wish to travel around Costa Rica during this time period while retaining the apartment as your home base. I would ask that you not be away overnight during the periods when I am not here.
