My home is in a mountain river village in the southern zone of Costa Rica. We are a half hour from the Mt. Chirripo National Park and a little over an hour to Dominical beach. I'm looking for a caretaker and property manager who enjoys nature and would enjoy mingling with the culture of rural Costa Ricans. No animals to care for, so no daily walks need be performed. Primary duties are to maintain the casitas, be here to greet rental guests, and prospective buyers, supervise and allow access to the cleaning person and gardeners, take care of any emergencies that may arise in the Costa Rica country side and stay in regular contact with me. There are english speaking ex-pat neighbors to help you get acquainted with the area and socialize, however our community is primarily a Tico neighborhood... very helping and caring people. You will need to have enough Spanish to communicate and a knowledge of Costa Rica in the rainy season is a plus.
The property is for sale, and if there is an acceptable offer, I need you to be my on the ground person to show the casitas. You will be asked to cover your own electricity and water for the unit you occupy if it runs beyond normal usage for one person.
Property is in a safe location, locking gates at entrance to property. Very serene and tranquil, a stone's throw from the Chirripo River. The casitas are near the one road that enters and exits the barrio of San Francisco and you will see the neighborhood children passing by on their way to and from school. This is not a secluded property, it is very much part of a thriving family oriented community.
If you require a television and internet speed of more than 3 mg, this is not a good match for you. If you enjoy listening to the sound of a fast flowing river 24/7 and admiring birds of all colors, shapes and songs, you have found a good housesit.
