One hour to Arenal Volcano, hot springs and waterfalls. Within two hours to Monteverde Cloud forest or Pacific beaches by car. Car not included, best to rent a car if you want to go sightseeing. Bus stop at end of driveway with several buses a day that can take you to the small, friendly town of Nuevo Arenal, about 1.2 miles away and located on Lake Arenal.
Nuevo Arenal has several good restaurants, a bank with 24hr ATM, three groceries stores, two gyms, an amazing health food store, and a large public lake access park with trails. There are great local hiking areas all around the lake. Two indoor/outdoor kitties, Sparkle and El Gato, will need to be fed and cared for, including management of litterbox. Home is on 2.3 private acres and has security cameras. (non-smokers only)
